probably has something to do with your processor fans and/or video card fans

your video card / mobo have a heat sensor that if the heat goes over a specific temperature the pc restarts

the reason this wouldn't happen during "normal" activities is the load balance is very low on the components.. since this is happening IN GAME after you select your character, once the game starts running at full speed your shit probably overheats

now i know the tools exist, but i don't know names..so if you are really interested you will need to do some research.


#1 you can find a program to monitor your heat settings and see if it ever goes critical
#2 find 3dmax or whatever that benchmarking program is and see if your fps drops significantly in heavy loads (your pc should crash during this, too)

if none of this stuff works let me know.. should only take you 30mins to test.

also u might want to check your pc itself and make sure that if you have heatsinks on your processor (video and cpu) make sure they are free from dust, make sure that all of your spare slots have metal covers and make sure that all fans are working

It's probably that you're computer can't handle it. Post some specs of your hardware.

My computer does it sometimes when I try to play half-life 2.

And it's also because you are using a vaio for gaming. Use a desktop PC with xp already installed.
